Thief knot
A thief knot is just a square knot tied corner to corner rather than side to side. This knot isnt very useful on its own, but the method is useful to know for tying such things as a macrame cuff or a simple simon under.
Please note that if tension is put on a square knot from corner to corner it will come undone.
Fold one end making a bunny ear.
Pass the other end through the bunny ear.
Pass the end around behind both parts of the bunny ear.
Pass the end through the bunny ear again. The final knot looks almost like a square knot but the two ends are on opposite corners rather than being side by side..
