Patriot gauntlets
An alternative to lou duff style arm gauntlets. This was the basis for the 600 foot rope mummification I once did at Shibaricon
The main bulk of the rope will always be behind what you are tying around. The tie itself is just bringing parts up to the front.
Make a bunny ear on the left side. This bunny ear will be laying in front.
Make another bunny ear on the right side.
Pass the right bunny ear through the left.
Make another bunny ear on the left side.
Important: Place the end of the rope in between the two bunny ears you have at this point. In the next step the end of the rope will become trapped between the two bunny ears holding it securely in place.
Pass the left bunny ear through the right.
Pull the bunny ear toward you to tighten everything up. The bottom most coil will slide around what your tying around.
Make another bunny ear on the right side.
Pass the right bunny ear through the left.
Pull the bunny ear toward you to tighten everything up. The bottom most coil will slid around what your tying around.
continue the three step process. Make a bunny ear / pass it through the other one ./ pull it toward you. Alternate left and right.
When you run out of rope, just leave the end as it is without make a bunny ear.
Pass the end all the way through the last bunny ear you did.
Pull the end toward you to tighten everything up.
The finished pattern has a center ridge that looks like a braid.
