Englishmans knot
This is not the way the englisham’s knot is usual tied. This method is based on the slipknot.
Make a bunny ear with one part of the line, and a loop with the other..
Drop the loop over the bunny ear.
This is the simple slipknot.
Take up some slack making the noose part of the slipknot large. The second slipknot will be made entirely within the first.
Make another bunny ear and loop just like you did in step one. Note that the two parts have “switched sides” since the first step. The bunny ear is on the opposite side as it was. And so is the loop.
Drop the loop over the bunny ear.
The two slipknots rest one above the other. The sliding part of one matches with the non-sliding part of the other.
When force is put on the ends of the rope, this will not come undone. The sliding part of each individual slipknot will jam against the opposite slipknot.
