Box knot
Made popular by the Knotty Boys. Unless you are very experienced with double coin knots it may be hard to remember how to start this knot. This method uses an overhand knot as its foundation and therefore is simpler to remember for most people.
Start with two lines parallel to each other.
Tie an overhand knot.
Lift the ends up and between the two standing parts. You are now done with the setup. The only thing to remember from this point forward is to work from top to bottom.
Cross the two ends. The crossing should be opposite of how the ends exit from the overhand knot. Under changes to over and over changes to under.
Come down one step. Bring the end across the standing parts. Under changes to over and over changes to under.
Come down one step. Bring the ends into the lower loops. Under changes to over and over changes to under.
Come down one step. Bring the end out of the lower loops. Under changes to over and over changes to under.
