Bedpost hitch
MEMO: Though this tutorial doesn’t show it, this knot is just a clove hitch with an extra tuck. The regular clove hitch comes apart under variable direction pull. This knot is called the constrictor hitch and holds up much better to variable direction pull.

Tying to the bedposts is a bondage classic. Methods of tying a limb are covered elsewhere, but tying the other end of the line to a bedpost is not normally covered. Many books give older sailing knots to use for this purpose but they do not work very well in modern slick smooth line.
Make a simple round turn around the bedpost. The working end should come over the top of the standing part.
Reach under the standing part and hook your finger to the back part of the loop. Pull it straight out away from you.
Bring the back loop underneath the standing part. Do not give it any twists or turn it over. Just bring it straight forward.
Lift the loop and drop it over the top of the bedpost.
The final knot will hold up amazingly well in even the stickiest of ropes. It can withstand pull from variable direction and force. It is, however, sometimes difficult to untie. With practice, this knot can be tied using only one hand.
