Play Party of the Imagination: 2
I had first met James and Teresa at a munch about 3 months back. They were relatively new to the scene and were both eager to scene. Unfortunately, James couldn’t even tie his own shoes. When he found out I was somewhat of an expert on bondage he inquired if I would like to scene with Teresa. Not the one to ever turn down an opportunity to scene I agreed and set up an appointment with Teresa over coffee. We met in a public coffee shop and took an out of the way table so we wouldn’t be overheard. I got her medical history from her as well as giving her two rope bracelets she could wear around the house for a few days to check for allergic reactions to the rope I use. Then I gave her a copy of the BDSM checklist (http://ms.ha.md.us/~tammad/over21/bondage/sub-checklist.html) to fill out while I went to the bathroom and made my safecall.
When I came back she was already done filling it all out. This came as somewhat of a shock but I was even more shocked to when I looked at her responses. She had marked everything a zero. Everything. Clothespins. Whipping. Spanking. Nipple clamps. Blindfolds. Everything. Needless to say I was a little stunned.
“Er? You marked everything as a zero.”
“Yes sir. I know.”
“Um? Why?”
“You told me to put down my level of interest on all those items and that is what I did.”
“But zeros?”
“Well look. It says right there. ‘0 (zero) indicates you have utterly no desire to do that activity and don’t like doing it (in fact, may loath it) and would ordinarily object to doing it, but you would permit the Dominant to do it if it they really wanted it.’ That is what a zeros means? Isn’t it?”
“Yes it is. But why put zeros on ALL of your answers?”
“Because that is my interest level on all of those items”
I sat for a few puzzles seconds scratching my head in confusion. “Do you honestly mean you don’t like any BDSM activity?”
“Oh, sure I have things I like. But they are not on that list.”
Now this was something new! The list was about the most exhaustive compilation of bdsm activities I knew of. This must really be something! Chomping at the bit eagerly wanting to learn what this brand new thing was I asked her what she liked.
“Pleasing my master”
“Huh?”
“Pleasing my master. That is what I like doing.”
“Yeah. I kind of figured as much otherwise you would have put a “no” as your answer instead of a “zero”. But I wanted to know what items you like to do.”
“None of them.”
“But surely you have some things that you like doing?”
“Yes I do. I like to please my master”
“I know you like it. But what I meant to say is what turns you on? What gets you excited?”
“Pleasing my master is what gets me excited”
Clearly I wasn’t going to get anywhere with this line of questioning. Thinking the problem was just semantics and she didn’t understand how I was using the words “like to do”. I backed up and tried a different approach.
“Ok. You have fantasies? Dont you?”
“Sure I have fantasies. Everyone does”
“Then please describe to me what your fantasy is”
“Pleasing my master is my fantasy”
“I don’t think you understood my question.”
“I don’t think you understood my answer”
“Let’s start from the beginning. What did you fantasize about before you met James.”
“I didn’t have any”
“Ah ha! But you just said that everyone has fantasies.”
“Yes.”
“Then that should mean that before you met James you had fantasies. Right?”
“I see where you’re going with this and I should probably correct myself. Before I met my master I did have fantasies. And that fantasy was pleasing my master. But until I met my master I never really had those fantasies awakened in me”
“I don’t see how that would be possible. Your fantasy was about something that you didn’t yet know?”
“It’s not all that unusual. You said yourself that you had fantasies about tying people up all the way back when you were playing Cowboys and Indians on the playground. You didn’t know that was a fantasy then but you eventually had that awakened in you. It’s the same thing as my fantasy being awakened in me.”
“Oh that’s something different. Bondage was something I knew existed but I just didn’t know it was something sexual until I hit puberty”
“Well I will agree with you about that. Cause pleasing my master doesn’t have anything to do with sex”
“Oh come on! I didn’t mean the word sex so literally. According to Bill Clinton even a blowjob doesn’t have anything to do with sex either. I meant sex as an erotic or sensual activity”
“That’s what I meant also. And pleasing my master doesn’t have anything to do with a erotic or sensual activity”
“It doesn’t? Then for crying out loud why do you do it?”
“I do it in order to please my master”
“Stop taking me so literally. I don’t ask what is your reason for doing it. I asked what do you get out of it. What motivates you to do it”
“What motivates me is knowing I have pleased my master. It is an incredible emotional fulfillment to me knowing that what I do gives him pleasure.”
“Ok. Let me attack this differently. You said James gets pleasure from what you do. He must like some toy or action or roll playing that gets him excited. Right?”
“Well sure. After all, that’s why Im negotiating with you. One of the things my master likes is to watch me with other men. It’s a really big turn on for him”
“If that is what really turns him on then what is the flip side of the coin? What is it that turns you on to the same level that voyeurism turns him on”
“Pleasing my master is my turn on”
I gave up at this point. Clearly I was not going to get anywhere. I thanked Teresa for her time and called the waitress over for the bill. I was beginning to have serious doubts about if the relationship was even consensual in the first place. Clearly James was consenting, but whether or not Teresa was actually consenting of her own will or just consenting in duplication of what James wanted. It was a situation I chose not to be a part of.
I must admit I was caught off guard when James approached me the next week demanding to know why I had condemned Teresa for being different. He wanted to know why I was so closed minded and why I thought my way was the only right way. After all, what the two of them do may be different from what I do but that didn’t give me the right to withhold their interests form them. He told me to reconsider the bondage scene with his slave.
You decide. Do I have the right to say no when I think something is nonconsensual? Or am I wrong for stopping someone from doing something they want to do?
