Someone think of the children
In case you havent heard, Sarah Palins daught is knocked up.
Both McCaisn and Obamas campain have stated that this isnt an issue for discution. The elephant side saying ‘It’s a private family matter‘ and the donkey side saying ‘Family is off limits‘. But political junkies just cant help themselves. They glory in pointing out the hyprocy that the political party that ‘haters anything having to do with sex’ should have a VPs child in exactly the situation they are againt.
But its not just the left side political junkies that try this trick of atcking a caniders children. Joe Bidens son was involved in a hedge fun scandel. And the political junkies quickly jumped up to point out the hyprocry that the political party that promises to ‘clean up dirty money in washington’ should have a VPs child in exactly the situation they are againt.
Each side firmly defends its right to atack the oposing sides child, but balks at the notion that their own side shoudl have to suffer atacks on their canidates child. And each side blames the other for using the ‘its private’ excuse to secretly mask the fact that their ashamed of whats going on.
This isnt a left/right issue because both sides are doing it. But then again, neither is it new. The current VPs daughter has gone through this stuff as well. Dick Cheneys daughter is gay and thats been the lanunching point for political attacks. Even comming up as an cheep trick in the 2004 presidental debates. Cheney had asked that his daughter be left out of the issue, only to have his request for privacy used as ‘proof’ that he is ashamed of his daughter and trying to hide her sexuality.
But privacy isnt caused by shame. People keep their credit card information private and nobody assumes that the reason they do so is because they are ashamed or embarased by their credit card numbers. The favorite atack againt the PATROIT act is that the evil bush dictatorship wants to steel yoru grandmas cookie recipies. Does the fact that your grandma wants to keep those recipies secret imply that she is somehow ashamed or embarased by the recipies?
