Often I have observed the efect, even if not directed toward me personally.

You cant possibly be bi. Your just young and confused and havent figured out what you are yet. ..... What do you mean you are a switch? People are either top or both but they cant be both ..... How can you be a fetishist? Isnt all of kink based on power exchange?

So yeah, it dosen't surprise me that someone would get pigeonholed into one particular political philosophy as well. For all the effort BDSMers put into patting themselves on the back about how open minded they are, I have witnessed more stereotyping in the kink community than I ever have by vanillas.

One reason I left one of our local and large Kinky groups was over stereotyping. There was a loud faction in the group that simply could not, or would not, understand that, oh yes, there were such things as Conservative (egads!--say it isn't so!),Republican, whips and chains type, Kinksters.

After a while, I could not help but feel unwelcome, even at the Munchies, which were quite large. The group has prospered and grown, and I wish them well, but just without me.
